Bev Corwin Photography

About Bev Corwin

I have always taken photographs, -of family gatherings, of wildflowers, of places of travel. The camera has been a means for me to go beyond my shyness and reserve. It has often enabled me to go places and explore where I would not have been comfortable otherwise.

For the past 5 years I have focused more on photography and have studied at the Photographic Center Northwest, a fine arts photography school in Seattle, Washington. That is, also, where I develop and print black and white film.

My work is mainly fine art, black and white silver gelatin, but, more recently, digital photography, color and sepia. I tend toward documentary subjects, but do portraits and travel photos, too. Commercial work has been cards, portraits and a text book cover.

Future opportunities to see work are: In December 2005, the photo series "Backyard Windows" will be displayed at Julia's Cafe Bakery at 2379 Eastlake Avenue, Seattle, WA. "The Feral Sheep of Decatur Island" will be exhibited in April and May 2006 in the worship space of St. Marks Cathedral, 1245 10th Avenue East, Seattle, WA 98102.
